The Story behind the Christian Focus Planner
Hi, I'm Craig Curry— by training, I'm a professional musician—a pianist, and a widely-published composer of choral music and piano arrangements used by churches.
So how did I end up creating the Christian Focus Planner?
When the pandemic hit in 2020, I decided to make it my "Year of Self-Care" My first goal was to get back in shape. I was at a record high weight and tired of what I saw in the mirror. I made good progress with exercise and nutrition changes and reached my goal weight within 6 months. I learned a lot about habits and goal-setting during that time.
My next goal was to work on my jazz piano skills. I invested in an iPad Pro to replace a couple shelves worth of music books. I found it difficult to keep track of everything I wanted to practice: tunes, scales, patterns, transcriptions and there weren't many digital practice journals out there, so I decided to create my own.
As I learned about graphic design and its software, I enjoyed it so much I decided to create my own digital planner. As I considered my own spiritual practices and routines I kept adding more content until it became the 2022 Key Command Christian Focus Planner.
Friends told me they thought this planner could help a lot of people so I decided publish it, hoping it will help Christians live more faithful and fruitful lives.
I continue to update the planner each year and use it personally as part of my own spiritual practices.
